Job Description
The Data & Analytics (D&A) team sits within the Global Supplier Management Group (GSMG) Business Operations organization and is responsible for supporting the entire GSMG organization with analytics support. The D&A team will work closely with the other key areas of the Business Operations team – Process/Policy, Systems Excellence, Global Sourcing & Contracting, Operational Excellence, and Value Realization.
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Procurement Data Scientist to join our procurement team. As a Procurement Data Scientist, you will play a crucial role in leveraging data analytics and statistical modeling techniques to optimize our procurement processes, enhance supplier selection, and drive cost savings. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including procurement, finance, and operations, to analyze complex datasets and generate valuable insights that will enable data-driven decision-making in our procurement function.

1. Apply data analytics techniques to analyze and interpret procurement data, including supplier performance, spend patterns, and market trends.2. Develop statistical models and forecasting algorithms to optimize procurement strategies, improve sourcing decisions, and identify opportunities for cost savings and process efficiencies.
3. Collaborate with stakeholders to identify key procurement metrics and develop reports and dashboards that provide actionable insights to procurement leadership and stakeholders.
4. Utilize data visualization tools to present findings and recommendations to non-technical audiences, enabling informed decision-making.
5. Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers, evaluate their capabilities, and support the supplier selection process.
6. Work closely with procurement and finance teams to track and monitor procurement performance against targets, identify deviations, and propose corrective actions.
7. Assist in the development and implementation of procurement data governance policies and standards to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and privacy.
8. Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in procurement analytics, and recommend innovative approaches to enhance procurement processes and drive continuous improvement.
9. Collaborate with IT teams to ensure data availability, quality, and integration across procurement systems and databases.
10. Provide support and expertise in procurement-related data projects and initiatives, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality results.
Travel will be required (~15%)
Education and Skills Required
Bachelor's, Master's or Ph.D. degree in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Operations Research, Statistics, or a related discipline.
Minimum Experience Required
Minimum of 2-5 years of relevant delivery of complex analytical projects (industrialized, validated)
Skills/Knowledge Required
Proven experience as a data scientist, analyst, or in a similar role, preferably within the procurement or supply chain domain.
Proficiency in data analysis and manipulation using programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL.
Strong knowledge of statistical modeling, data mining, and machine learning techniques, with experience in applying them to procurement or supply chain datasets.
Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Qlik sense, Power BI, or similar platforms to create insightful and visually appealing reports and dashboards.
Understanding of procurement processes, supplier management, and supply chain principles.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and recommendations.
Strong attention to detail and a focus on data accuracy and integrity.
Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
